Compare PDFs

See which words changed between two versions.

Free, no sign-up. It runs inside your browser: your files never leave your device.

Compare two PDFs and see which words changed between versions. Added, removed and changed text is marked, and you can save a marked-up copy to send for review.

How to use Compare PDFs

  1. Drop two PDF files: the original first, then the new version. Swap them with the arrows if needed.
  2. Turn on "Ignore case and punctuation" if those changes do not matter.
  3. Step through the changes with the next and previous buttons.
  4. Click "Save marked-up copy".

Questions

Does text that moved to another page count as a change?

No. Words are compared across the whole document, so text that only moved to another page is not a change.

Can I compare more than two files?

No. Compare two files at a time.

What do I get when I save?

The new version with every change highlighted and a note on what it was, plus a changes.txt list.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Both files are compared on your device.
