Alternate & mix

Interleave the pages of two or more PDFs, one from each in turn.

Free, no sign-up. It runs inside your browser: your files never leave your device.

Mix the pages of two or more PDFs, taking pages from each file in turn. It is the fix for double-sided scans, when the fronts and the backs come out as two separate files.

How to use Alternate & mix

  1. Drop two or more PDF files on the page.
  2. Put the files in order. Tick "Reverse" on a file to take its pages from last to first.
  3. Set "Pages from each file per turn" and what to do "When a file runs out".
  4. Check the page order shown under the options, then click "Mix pages".

Questions

How do I combine scanned fronts and backs?

Put the file with the fronts first and the backs second. Tick Reverse on the backs, then click Mix pages.

What if the files have a different number of pages?

Choose "Keep going" and the other files carry on until every page is used. Choose "Stop" and mixing ends with the shortest file; the extra pages are left out.

Can I take more than one page at a time from each file?

Yes. Set "Pages from each file per turn" to any number from 1 to 50.

Do my files leave my computer?

No. The pages are mixed on your device and nothing is uploaded.
