Split a PDF every time a word or phrase appears, like "Invoice No." at the top of each invoice. It turns one long batch of invoices, statements or forms into separate files.
How to use Split by text
- Drop a PDF on the page.
- Type the text to look for.
- Choose where to cut: before the match (the page starts a new file) or after it (the page ends a file).
- Turn on Match case, Whole word only or Name each file from the text if you need them.
- Click "Split by text" and download the ZIP.
Questions
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Only pages with real text can match. Run a scan through Searchable PDF (OCR) first, then split it.
Can each file be named after its invoice number?
Yes. With "Name each file from the text" on, the number after the match becomes the name: "Invoice No. 1234" gives 1234.pdf.
Does extra spacing stop a match?
No. Spacing does not matter when the text is matched.
Where is my file processed?
In your browser. The PDF stays on your device the whole time.
