How to use Split by size

Drop a PDF on the page.
Under "Largest part", pick 2 MB, 5 MB, 20 MB, or Other to type a size in KB or MB.
Turn on "Leave room for email" if you will send the parts as attachments.
Click "Split by size" and download the parts.

Email makes attachments about a third bigger on the way. With this on, each part is kept to 3/4 of the limit.

No. The pages are only divided between files. Each part carries just the fonts and images its own pages use.

Splitting cannot make that page fit. With "Show the pages in each file name" on, its file is named …-over-limit.pdf. Try Compress PDF on it.
